General info and Frequently asked questions.

Hello I am Ellie, I'm a self taught tattooist working from my lovely private studio in Bridport, Dorset.

I love tattooing animals, plants and celestial imagery and meeting all the interesting people I get to tattoo!

I always wanted to be a tattooist from a very young age and when I came across handpoke tattoos I knew it was the style for me.

I started practicing on myself and a few willing friends about 5 years ago and it all went from there, I have been fully licensed with my own studio for the last 3 years.

What is a Handpoked tattoo?

A Handpoked tattoo is a tattoo made dot by dot by hand using the same needles that would be in a tattoo machine but the ink is pushed in by hand. As they are made dot by dot, the process does take longer but it is usually quite relaxing. Handpoke tattoos have a lovely handmade look about them as you can see some of the dots sometimes, which I think is part of their charm.

Does it hurt more?

Most people think Handpoke tattoos hurt less, I would say it feels similar to eyebrow plucking!

How long do they last?

Handpoke tattoos are permanent, just like machine tattoos. The better you look after your tattoos, the better they will look in the long run. Always listen to the advice your tattooist gives you, Always wear suncream once healed and don't submerge in water for a couple of weeks whilst they are fresh.

Can I get a touch up?

Yes of course, touch ups are free. I wont touch up other tattooists work though.

What days do you work?

I work Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday! I don't work weekends.

Deposits

Your appointment is only saved for you once i've received the £30 deposit.

Deposits are non refundable and go towards the total price of the tattoo, they are not an extra cost.

If you need to rearrange I will move your deposit to another date once, if you need to rearrange again you will need to pay a new deposit.

If you cancel the day before or the day of the appointment, I will need a new deposit.

Areas of the body I don't tattoo.

I don't tattoo Feet or ribs.

Do you do cover ups?

My style of tattooing is very delicate and fine line, for that reason I can't do cover ups.

When will i see the design?

I will send the design over 1/2 days before the appointment, lots of tattooists only show designs on the day, but I like to give people a chance to look at the design beforehand.

Do you take walk ins?

I don't take walk ins and am open by appointment only, I book people in using my booking form so i get booked up for a couple of months at a time!

How does your booking system work?

My books open every couple of months for the following two months.

It always says in my instagram bio when my books will open and also what months I will be booking for.

When they are open there will be a booking form available on my website which will also be linked in my instagram bio!

Before getting your tattoo.

Please make sure you leave enough time before the appointment so that you arrive on time.

Eat food before you come to the appointment.

Come wearing clothing where the area getting tattooed is easily accessible.

- Wear a button up shirt for sternum tattoos that can easily be unbuttoned but still keep you covered up.

- For back tattoos wear a low back top/ vest or a button up shirt that can be worn back to front.

- In the winter bring extra layers.

Payment

I only take card payment and have a card machine which takes all cards and apple pay.

Pricing

I price tattoos based on the design rather than by the hour.

Size, placement and complexity of design are all factors that go in to pricing the tattoo.

they can range from £70-£350, When I reply to your booking form I will give you an exact price for the tattoo.

So much work goes in to making tattoos from the booking process to the designing and then finally making the tattoo, which is why they are the price they are, they are something that will be with you forever.
